Structural Engineer Er. Sujan Chapagain, Nepal
Over the years, I have amassed extensive experience in the structural analysis and design of reinforced concrete and steel structures, including residential buildings, commercial complexes, industrial warehouses, high-rise developments, and hospitality projects (hotels/resorts). Structural systems are developed through rigorous analytical modeling, seismic evaluation, load assessment, and performance-oriented design methodologies using advanced engineering software such as ETABS, STAAD Pro, SAP2000, AutoCAD, and self-built design spreadsheets.
Design and detailing practices are carried out in accordance with established structural engineering codes, standards, and seismic provisions, including the Nepal Building Code (NBC), Indian Standards (IS Codes), and other national engineering frameworks. Particular emphasis is placed on structural safety, serviceability, constructability, and efficient material utilization to achieve technically sound, resilient, and economic engineering solutions.

As a professional, a structural engineer has to work not just with clients and regulatory officials, but also with structural engineers, architects, civil engineers, draftspersons, geotechnical engineers, contractors, surveyors, and many other professionals to ensure a harmonious and successful building project. I have been fortunate enough to work with many such talented individuals across a wide range and scope of projects.
